Overview
The Device Repairs workflow allows authorised users to drop off a broken device securely and collect it again once it has been repaired. This article covers the steps a user follows at the FUYL Kiosk for both.
The button labels shown below are the defaults. Administrators can rename them to suit their organisation, so the labels on a Kiosk may differ from those used here.
Dropping off a device
- The user selects "Repairs."
- The user selects "Drop off a repair."
- The user authenticates.
- The user is prompted to select an issue from the following:
- Broken Screen
- Won’t turn on
- Broken Keyboard
- Something else (if “Other repair options” is configured)
- If configured, the user is prompted to describe the issue.
- If configured, the user is prompted to enter or scan the device ID.
- If configured, the user is prompted to complete the custom drop off screen.
- If configured, the user is offered the option to loan a device.
- An appropriate bay will open, and they can place the device inside for IT Admin collection.
- If configured and agreed to above, the user will begin the configured device loans or deployment workflow.
- If notifications are configured, emails will be sent once the bay is closed with all details entered by the user, including their email and name if available.
Collecting a repaired device
- The user selects "Repairs."
- The user selects "Pick up a repair."
- The user authenticates.
- If a device was loaned at drop off (see above), the user will be prompted to return the loan device first, opening an appropriate bay.
- If a device is ready for collection, the appropriate bay will open for access.
- Once closed, the bay becomes available again.
